What is a Glycolic Peel?
A Glycolic Peel is a resurfacing treatment. Glycolic acid is applied to cleansed skin to chemically exfoliate the dead skin cells that build up on the skin causing fine lines and rough texture. The glycolic is left on the skin for 2 to 15 minutes, the time will be determined by your Esthetician. A series of 6 to 8 treatments 2 weeks apart is highly recommended for the best results.
What skin type is this best for?
All levels of aging skin, wrinkles, rough complexion, uneven skin tone, smoker’s skin, or tired dull skin will benefit best from this peel.
What can I expect during the treatment?
During the peel you may feel a prickly, itchy feeling with some tightness. Some redness can occur from the peel but should not last more than a few hours.
What kind of results can I expect to see?
After a series of Glycolic Peels you can expect to see softening of fine lines, smoother texture, and more even skin tone. You may get some light shedding of old, dead skin cells.
How often should I have a Glycolic Peel?
Ideally you would want to do a series of 6 to 8 peels 2 weeks a part, and every month after for maintenance.
What should I avoid prior to having a Glycolic Peel?
Prior to having a peel you need to avoid tanning or burning the skin for at least 2 weeks. You should also discontinue use of any retinoids, retinols, AHA’s or glycolic acid for 5 days prior to your treatment.
What should I avoid after a Glycolic Peel?
After a Glycolic Peel you should avoid using any retinoids, retinols, AHA’s or glycolic acid for about 2 days. It is also very important you refrain from tanning or burning the skin during or after a series of peels.
What is the cost of a Glycolic Peel?
Individuals with a body mass index over 30 may not be considered for these treatments.
$100 per peel, or a series of 6 for $500.00
